Management Team
Harvest Capital Partners is led by an international management team with deep expertise in all relevant disciplines including investment and acquisitions, portfolio management, construction and asset management. Every member of the senior management team has over ten years of international experience in property development and investment.

Mr. Ren is the Chief Executive Officer of Harvest Capital Partners and is a member of its Board of Directors. Mr. Ren is responsible for the structuring and setting up of funds, capital raising activities and overall management. He also sits on the Board of Directors of the Harvest Capital and on the Investment Committee of the funds. A former investment banker with over 13 years of experience, Mr. Ren is an industry veteran in the Greater China investment market and among one of the first foreign investors to successfully complete property deals in China.
Previously, Mr. Ren was the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Hypo Real Estate Bank International (“Hypo”) in Hong Kong, one of the largest specialized real estate financing banks in the world. In this role, he was responsible for business development in the Greater China Region and co-founded the company’s branch in China, which involved designing a two-tier transaction structure enabling mezzanine and senior debt financing. Mr. Ren developed a high-quality pipeline of opportunities for Hypo in a relatively short period of time and cemented close relationships with premier developers and partners.
Mr. Ren is a seasoned banker in the regional debt capital markets with a specialization in structured finance, infrastructure finance and syndicated finance. Mr. Ren was a member of the Real Estate Executive Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and he has been a guest speaker at the prestigious Executive Program jointly offered by Harvard University and Tsinghua University.
Mr. Ren was educated in England and has a Masters degree in Corporate Finance and Investment Banking from the University of Reading.
Ophelia Chan, Chief Operating & Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Chan is the Chief Operating and Chief Financial Officer of Harvest Capital Partners. She oversees the overall operations of the Company and is responsible for the financial management of the funds. She supervises the portfolio management, fund establishment and structuring, and works alongside the external administrator of the funds. She is also responsible for investor communications and reporting.
Previously, Ms. Chan was the Regional Controller for AIG Global Real Estate (Asia) LLC, with responsibility for the Asia (ex-Japan) region.
Ms. Chan started her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers and later joined one of Canada’s largest real estate investment trusts, in both finance and asset management roles. In her previous position as an asset manager with this trust, she managed a portfolio of 12 million sq. ft. of retail real estate investments across Canada.
Ms. Chan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Business Administration.
Philip Kwong, Head of Construction and Asset Management
Mr. Kwong is Director of Construction and Asset Management at Harvest Capital Partners. He oversees the planning and construction of property developments, major renovations and asset management for completed properties acquired by the funds.
Mr. Kwong has over 20 years of project management experience in real estate development and has led multi-disciplinary teams on numerous projects. The projects cover a wide variety of asset types including residential, office, retail and hotels, and are spread across Hong Kong and first and second tier cities in mainland China.
Previously, Mr. Kwong was Senior Vice President and Director of Asset Management at Orix Asia, where he was responsible for real estate investment in China. Prior to that, he held senior management positions with a number of leading developers, project management consultants and contractors including the Sino Group, Maunsell and Shimizu Corporation.
Mr Kwong obtained a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Engineering from the Hong Kong University, and an MBA degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is qualified to practise design and construction in China, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.
